NZ FRINGE FESTIVAL LAUNCHES PROGRAMME JAN 15// FULL STORY

The New Zealand Fringe Festival is set to launch its programme for the 2009 festival on Thursday January 15 from 6pm to 8pm.

Christchurch’s annual jazz and blues festival will be an extra tasty affair in 2009.

The finalists for the Jazz Album of the Year for 2008 have been announced and they include a three-time winner, a previous finalist and a respected music teacher and researcher.

The finalists for New Zealand's Best Folk Album of 2008 include an enduring crooner, a celebrated bluegrass band and a trio of relative new kids on the block.

Fringe 09 moves with the times with its new web-based programme package.

The Big Day Out continues to add to this year’s line-up with the announcement that Christchurch’s Bang Bang Eche have won a nationwide radio competition for the opening slot on the Smokefree Local Produce stage.

Chugg Entertainment today confirmed that Coldplay will visit New Zealand following their eleven arena shows in Australia next March. The show will be part of their “Viva La Vida” world tour, in support of their new album of the same name.
